All those silly sayings about how your the only one that can make you happy and happiness is a state of mind well, despite the hallmark lameness they reak of, it is true.

Happiness is not what happens to you when you get everything you want. Its a matter of wakeing up one day and decideing- I want to be happy. Just that simple folks. Decide you no longer want to be miserable and just be happy. Yes, that means fakeing it for a long time, but eventually one day your driving along, humming a ditty and you realize you didnt even notice the transition from that bitter angry miserable person - to a full fledged "happy" person.

Unfortuanatly, no person and no thing can do this for you. Yet most of us spend our entire lives believing that if we had this somebody or that something that we would be happy. Nope. Not true. The pleasure you gain from getting something you want is like a wave on top of the ocean. Once you know this, you can handle anything that comes your way or doesnt. Just like the ocean handles a storm rageing on the surface.
